I would like to offer a testimonial which would simply be that the Foundation course has been the most enjoyable and uplifting experience, and I feel I’ve learned an incredible amount not just about yoga but also about myself – thank you again!

Having attended yoga classes for many years, I felt ready to understand and experience much more than is possible through a weekly class. A summer yoga holiday at The Hill that Breathes in Italy really got me thinking and soon afterwards I heard about Frances’s Foundation course which sounded just the right way to deepen my appreciation for yoga. Having attended a taster session with Frances I enrolled for the course and have learned and gained so much from it. I now do an almost daily practice, know myself much better and have gone on to study further for the teaching Diploma.

We are living in challenging times:
Many people do daily work and live lives that do not nourish them or their community. Pollution-stress, noise-stress, relation ship-stress, – these are the symptoms of a community – a society – a world out of balance.
It seems that some of our world leaders are weak or corrupt.
We are living under the threat of global climatic chaos.
We are living under the threat of terrorist attack.
Many of our brothers and sisters in other countries are living in absolute poverty.
All of this impacts on our state of mind daily. Many people are struggling with low energy and depression and feeling overwhelmed and confused. The way we are living is not sustainable and at a deep level we all know that is the truth. This truth is so terrifying that we keep busy with our many distractions. That could be working too hard, shopping too much, giving too much to everyone else and neglecting yourself as well as the obvious ones nicotine, alcohol, sugar and other drug addictions.
The only way to begin to come back into balance is to begin with nourishing your self at a deep level. The only way to create a healthier world to live in is to start with self love. Out of that anything is possible.
Quote….If there is light in the soul; there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house there will be order in the nation,
If there is order in the nation there will be peace in the world.
(Chinese proverb)
The British Wheel of Yoga foundation course is an ideal way to deepen your level of self nourishment if you have been a student of Yoga for 2 years or more. One of the core elements of this course is developing a sturdy daily practice.
If you have the desire to become a Yoga teacher one way to do this with integrity is to have your own daily Yoga practice. Having this as your foundation will nourish and sustain you in your work as a teacher.
If you do not desire to teach – The British Wheel of Yoga foundation course is also ideal as a way to deepen your experience of Yoga. A daily practice will serve you well in what ever way you live your life. It is a place where you can connect with your truest self, without the teacher, without the group. Having a daily self practice will make you strong in a way that you will know your truth; you will know your own wisdom, you will connect directly to your own love. During the year long course there will be lots of guidance and support from the tutor and the rest of the group in developing and maintaining a daily Yoga practice.
The foundation course will also delve into some of the ancient wisdom that underpins the Yoga we see today.
If you are doing daily work that feels like it is robbing you of your creativity and your enthusiasm for life this could be the course for you.
If you are retired from work and still feel you have lots to learn and offer to your community – this might be the perfect time to start the BWY foundation course.
If you have young children and would like to take care of yourself better so that you can nourish your family well. If your children are getting bigger and you would like to develop some exciting creative work for you that can fit in with school terms. If your children have all left home or are in the process of doing so and you are feeling lost and empty – the foundation course is an excellent option for you.
If you have a deep love of Yoga and if it has seen you through some very painful times personally you might desire to share it with others who are going through a similar experience. Yoga is a very rich and diverse ancient system of personal development. It has something that will nourish you at all the stages of your life.
What ever you can do or dream about just begin it
What ever you can do or dream about just begin it
Boldness has genius, power and courage in it
What ever you can do or dream about just begin it.
(Quote from a campfire song)
Come back to what is sustainable. Come back to truth, come back to real community. Come back to self love – to self nourishment – and out of that anything is possible. We have more potential as human beings than we can even dare to imagine. Physically, mentally and spiritually we have tremendous untapped potential. First of all we have to love ourselves. And this is a lot easier to say than to do. That journey towards loving yourself is not an easy option – it requires much courage and many a dark night – but it is the only real choice. So I invite you to choose it.
The time is now
The place is here
And the people you know already
I invite you to take a step towards self love – towards joy – towards creativity –towards truth - towards beauty and clarity – take a step in what ever way is right for you.
With love Frances
I honour the place in you
where the entire universe resides.
I honour the place in you
of love of light, of truth, of peace.
I honour the place within you where,
if you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me,
there is only one of us.
