		<description>Dear Frances,
The practice of resting back, noticing what is and then allowing it, welcoming it, I believe is profound, healing work, especially when practiced with self compassion (I heard it said recently that compassion is presence, an expression of love). So there I am with my confusion, fear, loss, anxiety, profound yearning, and the witnessing all of this, being present with all my “stuff”, and then resting there. This place of rest, taking a moment to be in the stillness and grace of “just being”, offers me a pause, a space – which I can choose to use as an opportunity to let it go, then what?? Well, that’s where I find something other, and here words fail me…. I don’t find this in any way easy, but I believe it’s a healing process. In letting go, surrendering to the moment, and then inviting myself to soften into the experience even more fully – diving in deeply – trusting, and, then turning up for life - taking the benefits of this practice back out into my life, family, friends, work etc. Isn’t Yoga wonderful?

The mindfulness teacher, Jon Kabat Zinn has written a short poem about this:

“Have you ever had the experience of stopping so completely, of being in your body so completely, of being in your life so completely, that what you know, and what you didn’t know, that what had been, and what was yet to come, and the way things are, right now. no longer held the slightest hint of anxiety or discord. A moment of complete presence. Beyond striving, beyond mere acceptance, beyond the desire to escape or fix anything, or plunge ahead. A moment of pure being, no longer in time, a moment of pure seeing, pure feeling, a moment in which life simply is. And that “is-ness” grabs you by all your senses, all your memories, by your very genes, by your love and welcomes you home. That is a taste of mindfulness.”

Thanks for the opportunity to reflect on your wise words, and for reading my ramblings!
love

<description>I&#039;ve been sitting here working all morning, and just read this while I was having my lunch. I keep worrying about all the butterfly eggs on my brassicas, and wondering when I&#039;ll find the time to do all the gardening I know needs doing. Reading this somehow reminded me that instead of going straight back to work again with no break, I could go out into the garden for a short time and make a start on removing some of those eggs before they hatch..

Turns out I got most of them (using just squirty environmentally friendly soap and fingers), and although I was only out there for 20 minutes, I&#039;m now much calmer and more focused, and ready to get back to work.

Thanks for reminding me to pay attention :o)
