Hope…..

My hope is that a critical mass of people realise that we are all brothers and sisters and that planet earth is our shared home. That together we begin to care for each other and our home with such dedication that life on earth is transformed.

Yoga plays a big part in helping people become human kind ~ kind humans.

From 31st August to 13th September 2008 I participated in a Permaculture Design Course at Ragmans Lane Farm with Patick Whitefield. This deeply inspiring course stimulated many life changes in me….

* Choosing Voluntary Simplicity:

I gave up driving and owning a car.

I gave up flying for 12 years.

I moved to live in an eco cabin on the edge of a woodland with a wood burning stove and a compost loo.

I joined a woodland management group and learnt about felling trees and chopping wood.

These changes had a big and subtle impact on my life. I gave up rushing around and began to travel much more steady track in all areas of my life. This I believe is good for my nervous system and well as the environment. I began to feel much more connected to the seasons, actually part of the seasons and much more in tune with nature. I began to have adventures close to home and deep rest in front of my wood-stove rather than on a foreign beach.

I have lived in a friendly neighbourhood where many people are very community minded and there are a variety of things on offer locally to support and sustain the community, including Red Tent Stroud, Girls groups, Men’s groups, Dad’s camps, Spiritual Cinema, Non Violent Communications group, Meditation, Yoga, Woodland group, Forest School, Drumming, Food growing groups, Chanting and much much more……

* Choosing Voluntary Simplicity lead to all sorts of abundance that I could not have imagined……….

I highly recommend Permaculture for practical ecological solutions now.

I highly recommend Be the Change Symposium for a wake up and a call to action.

I highly recommend Joanna Macey for her deep ecology – see her book ‘World as Lover, World as Self’.

I have offered Yoga retreats in delightful Dartmoor and encourage you to have holidays close to home and adventures in the Sacred Landscape of Britain and support Sustainable Tourism.

And I am available to offer talks on any of the above……with many thanks Frances
