Why 108 many people ask?
In Yoga 108 is considered a sacred number - it symolises the fulfilment of human life.

Number 1 represents oneness, unity, perfection, totality.
Number 8 symbolises Nature, the manifest universe, as well as the individual personality. Number 0 symbolises transparency or emptiness.

108 indicate that when there is complete transparency (0) between the individual personality and (8) and the totality (1), there is a state of Transcendence.  Yoga is often translated as Union.  The aim of yoga is to lead us to the realisation of our essential Nature.

Quote by Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati in his book Ashram Chants. Mandala Yoga Ashram 2003.

Quote Shiva Rea " The distance between the earth and the sun is approx 108 times the sun's diameter. The diameter of the sun is about 108 times the earth's diameter. The distance between the earth and the moon is 108 times the moon's diameter."

It is my intention to offer this practice 4 times per year to celebrate the changing seasons:
Spring Equinox
Summer Solstice
Autumn Equinox
Winter Solstice
